California Highway Patrol responded to a call concerning a traffic accident on the 210 Freeway in La Crescenta that involved a pedestrian being struck.
“On March 3 at about 10:03 p.m., CHP Altadena received a notification from the Los Angeles Regional Traffic Management Center of a vehicle versus pedestrian on the Interstate 210 (Foothill Freeway) eastbound at the La Crescenta Avenue on-ramp. CHP as well as the Los Angeles County Fire Dept. arrived on scene,” according to a CHP spokesperson.
It was found the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries. Glendale police assisted CHP with the closure of the Pennsylvania Avenue on-ramp to the 210 eastbound.
Caltrans assisted with a hard closure of traffic lanes and deployed CMS (changeable message signs).
The lanes were open at 2:57 a.m. on March 4.
The traffic crash is still being investigated.
