700 block of Angeles Crest Highway in Angeles National Forest, a woman and her husband parked their vehicle in the lower parking lot at Switzer Falls. They locked their vehicle and went for a hike with their family. When they returned they found their vehicle was unlocked. The woman opened the trunk of the car and discovered several items were missing including credit cards. She reached out to the card companies and found that someone had used one of her credit cards at a Sinclair Gas Station in Sun Valley. She canceled her credit cards.
The vehicle burglary occurred between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
4200 Chula Senda Lane in La Cañada Flintridge, while a resident was asleep in his home he woke up to the sound of someone going through the drawers in his kitchen. He thought it was a family member and went back to sleep. Minutes later he woke up to see a person, dressed in all black wearing a black beanie, standing at his opened bedroom door. The person had a flashlight turned on and pointed toward the resident. The suspect made a “startled noise” and ran out of the bedroom. The resident got out of his bed and chased the suspect out of his home through the back door. The suspect ran to the front of the property and entered the front passenger side of a black Volvo vehicle that was parked in front of the residence’s driveway. The driver of the vehicle then drove away from the area. An investigation found the window open to the left of the kitchen door and the window screen was off and placed on the ground. The secondary bedroom had multiple drawers opened but were not ransacked. It appeared nothing was stolen.
The burglary occurred at 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 26
700 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to the activation of a burglary alarm. Upon arrival they discovered the front glass door was shattered and a cash register drawer was open and empty. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects, wearing dark hoodies, face masks and gloves, shattering the front door and entering the building.
The burglary occurred between 4:36 a.m. and 4:39 a.m.
2800 block of Prospect Avenue in La Crescenta, a driver stated she had parked her vehicle at the location, locked it and walked to Crescenta Valley High School. When she returned she found the rear passenger window was shattered. At the time she did not report anything stolen.
The vehicle burglary occurred between 2:50 p.m. and 5:06 p.m.
