700 block of Angeles Crest Highway in Tujunga, a driver said he had parked his vehicle at the Switzer Falls Trail parking lot and went for a hike. When he finished the hike, he drove back down toward the city and regained cell service. He had text messages stating his credit card had been denied at a business in Arcadia, while he was hiking. He checked and discovered his wallet had been stolen from his vehicle’s glove box.
The theft occurred between 10:56 a.m. and 2:06 p.m.
Feb. 19
2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a victim went into the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station to report a battery incident. She told deputies that she and her husband had parked their vehicle at the location. She observed a black 2024 BMW 14 parked in the parking space to the right of her vehicle. A suspect was described as a Black woman, about 30 years old with blonde braided hair, about 5’7” tall with a medium build and at the time was wearing a black shirt, black leggings and white boots. The suspect opened the BMW’s driver’s door and bumped into the victim’s rear passenger-side door. While the suspect was still in her vehicle she closed her driver’s door and reopened it, bumping into the victim’s car again. The victim asked the suspect why she continued to hit her vehicle with her car door; the suspect reportedly told the victim her vehicle was too close. The victim told the suspect she had parked correctly between the two parking lines. The suspect then walked to the driver side rear passenger door of her BMW and opened the door wide enough to hit the rear passenger side wheel well trim of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect grabbed a brown box from the rear passenger seat, closed the door and walked into the UPS. The victim helped her husband walk into a nearby business then came back and recorded the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect returned to her vehicle, opened her driver door and again hit the passenger side door of the victim’s car. The suspect took out her cellphone and began recording the victim and then got into her vehicle. The victim walked between her vehicle and the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect opened her door, got out and hit the victim in the right temple about nine times with her fist. The victim dropped her cellphone and glasses onto the ground when the suspect began hitting her. When the victim bent down to retrieve her phone and glasses, the suspect drove away. An individual apparently recorded the incident. Deputies are investigating.
The battery assault occurred at 4:08 p.m.
3900 Alta Vista Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident reported receiving an alarm notification from his home. He went to his residence in response to the alarm and found the glass door leading to his bedroom had been smashed. Surveillance footage revealed two male adults wearing dark colored clothing approach the glass door to the bedroom. It did not show the suspects entering the home; apparently they were scared off by the alarm.The interior of the home was not disturbed.
The attempted burglary occurred at 2:14 p.m.
100 block of La Cañada Flintridge, an employee reported that a suspect, described as a male Hispanic between the ages of 17 and 20, about 5’4” tall with multiple tattoos on his face and wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, black and white shoes and carrying a dark colored backpack, entered the gas station/store through the sliding glass doors. The suspect grabbed multiple items and walked out of the store without attempting to pay. The suspect entered an older model tan Ford Expedition with a non-operable left brake light at 5:47 a.m.
