Feb. 7
4400 block of Ocean View Boulevard in Montrose, a handicap placard and cash were stolen from a locked vehicle between 1 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Feb. 6
2300 block of Florencita Avenue in Montrose, the driver’s side glass window of a vehicle was broken overnight.

800 block of Valley Crest Street in La Cañada, a resident received a call from a representative from Discover bank. There had been a savings account opened with his name and his social security number; he had not opened the account. The fraudulent account was found at 7:16 p.m.

Feb. 4
2300 block of Mountain Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident had a garage sale at her home. She had sold items to a man described as Hispanic, in his 60s, 5’6” tall and weighing about 160 pounds. At the time he was wearing a straw hat that was curled up on the edges. He paid with a large U.S. currency bill, and received change. Later a man described as Hispanic, in his 30s, 5’9” tall and weighing about 170 pounds, purchased other items and attempted to pay with a large U.S. currency bill. The woman said she could not give him change and he purchased more items. At the end of the garage sale she discovered that both large bills were counterfeit.
The exchange occurred between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Feb. 3
2100 block of Patagonia Drive in La Cañada, a woman contacted her post office to locate a package she was expecting. She discovered the package had been delivered to her home; however, she never received it. The theft of the package was reported on Feb. 3.

Feb. 2
4900 block of Angeles Crest Highway in La Cañada, antique paper currency, antique coins and stamps were stolen from a business and rooms were ransacked overnight.
Feb. 1
2100 block of Crescent Avenue in Montrose, a woman was contacted by a representative of a company asking her if she had placed orders online. She had not. The woman discovered her credit card had been used to purchase several items without her permission. The items were shipped to a Federal Express office and picked up by a person unknown.
The theft occurred between Oct. 1 and Oct. 4.

Jan. 28
2200 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose, a resident received a letter from Chase Bank Card Services stating that someone had fraudulently applied for a credit card using his identity. The application was made at 12:01 a.m.

Jan. 20
4900 block of Commonwealth Avenue in La Cañada, a resident discovered that silverware and gold plated coins were stolen from her home between Jan. 20 and Feb. 6.
