A recent report by The Equality of Opportunity Project named Glendale Community College as one of the top colleges for student upward income mobility. The study was based on findings defining a college’s mobility rate as the fraction of its students who come from a family in the bottom fifth of the income distribution and end up in the top fifth of the income distribution.
“Mobility Report Cards: The Role of Colleges in Intergenerational Mobility” was published by the Equality of Opportunity Project in partnership with The New York Times.
Glendale College is ranked seven out of 10 on the mobility report card, based on colleges with 300 or more students per cohort. The study focused on statistics of students’ earnings and their parents’ incomes for each college in the United States.
