Last year, the City of Glendale Arts & Culture Commission and Glendale City Council selected the consulting team Community Arts Resources (CARS) and Barbara Goldstein & Associates to develop a strategic, comprehensive Public Art Master Plan that will articulate a vision for public art in Glendale for the next five to 10 years.
The city-wide plan will establish goals for budgeting more than $6 million of the city’s Urban Arts Fund by identifying relevant themes, priorities, strategic partnerships, and possible sources of alternative funding for public art in the City of Glendale.
The outline of the plan will be presented to the public at the final community presentation tonight, Thursday, Feb. 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Downtown Glendale Central Library Auditorium. The consulting team will discuss key recommendations for the city to develop a successful public art program.
Public feedback for the Glendale Public Art Master Plan will continue to be collected through the website and the final community presentation until Feb. 1, which will be the last opportunity for residents and others interested in shaping the future of public art in the city to make comments.
Those interested in providing the team with ideas and suggestions for the Glendale Public Art Master Plan can participate by:
• Attending the Glendale Public Art Master Plan final community presentation on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Downtown Glendale Central Library Auditorium
