1800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a member of a church at the location reported finding the metal door jam at the building had been broken and cabinet drawers in the church’s office were open and ransacked. He continued to walk through the church and noticed several other cabinets opened and ransacked. At the time the only thing that appeared to be stolen was a clock; however, a flat screen monitor had the wires pulled from its back. It appeared entry was made into the church when a person/persons kicked in the metal door.
The burglary occurred overnight.

Jan. 26
4800 block of Crown Avenue in La Cañada, a woman left her home in the morning and returned hours later to find several rooms ransacked, a purse and foreign currency stolen and the window screen slashed between 8:40 a.m. and 8:15 p.m.

300 block of San Juan Way in La Cañada, a woman left her home making certain all the lights were turned off. When she returned home she noticed a light in her bedroom was on, which she found suspicious, so she contacted the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station. Deputies responded and saw a glass sliding door shattered and rooms ransacked. Nothing was reported stolen at the time.
The burglary occurred between 7 p.m. and 10 pm.

4300 block of Chevy Chase Drive in La Cañada, a bicycle was stolen from an open garage overnight.

Jan. 25
5300 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, deputies responded to a call concerning a witness who saw three men running from the location carrying trash bags. They reportedly got into a white Ford Explorer with “Galpin Ford” paper plates and fled the area. An investigation revealed a residence with the front windows shattered and the screen missing. Upon further investigation the front window appeared to be shattered by a punch tool. The residence had several rooms ransacked. Deputies contacted the resident of the home who found that several pieces of jewelry had been stolen.
The men were seen running from the scene at 12:20 p.m.

300 block of Berkshire Avenue in La Cañada, deputies responded to a report concerning two men in the backyard of a home attempting to gain entry through a patio door. A search of the area did not find any suspects and there were no signs of entry into the home. The homeowner reported his home was equipped with a security system with video capability. The alarm was triggered and he saw the two suspects near his patio door. It appeared at the time the suspects were attempting to gain entry into his home. Through his security system he was able to talk to the suspects who did not flee the area immediately. They then appeared to be startled by something and left the area. Suspect No. 1 was described as a male black, between 5’9” and 6’ tall, medium build and wearing a green khaki-colored hooded jacket, blue jeans and dark gloves. Suspect No. 2 was described as a male black, 5’10” tall, medium build with a long dreadlock-type hairstyle, possible facial hair and wearing a multi-colored hooded jacket.
The attempted burglary occurred at 2 p.m.

700 block of Forest Green Drive in La Cañada, a person/persons smashed the back glass door of a home, ransacked several rooms and stole a box of jewelry from a residence between 6:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
