Ringing in the New Year for some meant increasing the size of their families.

The first baby of the year at Verdugo Hills Hospital arrived at 10:25 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Atreus Romo weighed in at seven pounds and one ounce. Mother is Alyssa Marie Cruz. The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce presented a gift basket full of goodies from local businesses.

Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center (GMHHC) welcomed its New Year baby, Ashot, at 11:38 a.m. on Jan. 1. The healthy baby boy came into the world weighing seven pounds and two ounces and measuring 20 inches in length.

This is the second baby for Van Nuys residents Ani Gevorgyan and Arman Hayrapetyan. Mom and baby are healthy and doing well.
