Zoppo Featured at GNC

Adriana Zoppo

On Wednesday, June 18 at 12:10 p.m., the free admission Glendale Noon Concerts program will be performed live in the sanctuary of Glendale City Church. 610 E. California Ave. in Glendale.

The Glendale Noon Concerts will feature Ergo Musica: Adriana Zoppo will perform solo works for viola d’amore by Karl Stumpf, Louis-Toussaint Milandre, Aurelio Arcidiacono, and Los Angeles composer Kirstin Fife.

This program features the viola d’amore by itself, showcasing its characteristic tone and capabilities with music by composers spanning the 18th to the 21st centuries, most of whom played the instrument themselves. Also included is a short work by Los Angeles composer Kirstin Fife.

In addition to the viola d’amore, Adriana Zoppo performs on violin, viola, baroque violin and baroque viola. Director/curator of the Glendale Noon Concerts’ early music sub-series Zoppo, with Ergo Musica, is heard there frequently. Previously a member of the Carmel Bach Festival, she plays with the original instrument ensembles Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra, Los Angeles Baroque Players, Bach Collegium San Diego and the Corona del Mar Baroque Festival, where she has appeared as viola d’amore soloist. She has also played regularly with the Santa Barbara, New West, Pacific, Long Beach and Pasadena symphonies, the St. Matthew Chamber Orchestra and other local ensembles.

Zoppo plays for film, TV, solo artist recordings and liveshows of all musical styles and genres.
