‘Alumination’ Screening and Discussion

Associates of Brand Library & Art Center’s Reel Art Film Series present “Alumination,” a documentary by Eric Bricker. The film is presented tonight, June 12, at 7 p.m. at Brand Library and Art Center in Glendale in partnership with The  Glendale Historical Society. After the screening, legendary cultural anthropologist Charles Phoenix will speak about vintage trailer culture and take audience questions.

“Alumination” celebrates the Airstream trailer’s profound connection to the nomadic living movement. Filmmaker Bricker offers a visually stunning exploration of Airstream as both a cultural icon and a symbol of freedom and creativity. The film captures the history of the Airstream, from its origin by founder Wally Byam to its role in shaping the burgeoning interest in nomadic life. The film features interviews with Airstream enthusiasts, nomadic living pioneers and design experts.

Many of the legendary worldwide caravans are featured in the film including the iconic Around the World Caravan, and adventures across the American landscape – from desert vistas to bustling urban parks.

The film’s running time is 1 hour and 9 minutes and will be followed by a discussion with urban explorer and humorist Charles Phoenix.
