GLENDALE KIWANIS
The Kiwanis Club of Glendale meets on Fridays at noon. On Friday, Dec. 12 Laura Duncan, the executive director of Ascencia, will give an overview of what the organization is doing in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness.
The cost to attend Friday meetings, which includes lunch and program, is $25. All are welcome.
The Club meets Friday afternoons at the Elks Lodge, 120 E. Colorado St. in Glendale.
DANCING AS EXERCISE
Dancing As Exercise is a free weekly event sponsored by the Los Angeles County Park program for seniors (50 plus), which were dark during summer. It is now active!
There is live music every Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Park’s building at 3901 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta. Light refreshments and water are provided along with socialization and information about other park activities.
Dancing, per se, is not required; single persons are welcome.
CCLCF EVENTS
The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge (CCLCF) hosts a variety of events for the community. Among them:
- Registration opened on Dec. 10 for winter programming. Classes to run from Jan. 5 to Feb. 28 (eight weeks).
- Join the CCLCF Foothills Community Choir for a night of winter choral music at its winter concert on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. in the CCLCF Auditorium. This is a free, family-friendly concert open to the community. No registration or tickets required.
- CCLCF is having a holiday family brunch. The community is invited on Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to enjoy live carolers, winter crafts, a delicious brunch and pictures with Santa. PSA PRESENTS RECEPTION FOR ARTIST CHOICE EXHIBITION

Little Landers Historical Society is seeking volunteers to help support its mission, “To preserve and maintain Bolton Hall Museum and the historical record of Rancho Tujunga.”
Positions on the Bolton Hall 2026 board of directors are open. Other opportunities to volunteer include museum docents, committee members for ongoing projects, special event and exhibit coordinators, administrative, archival or library assistants, facilities maintenance and more.

SASHA PEREZ HOLDING WINTER WONDERLAND State Senator Sasha Peréz is hosting a Winter Wonderland event, a free family-friendly community celebration, that will feature festive music, children’s activities, photo opportunities, a resource table and special surprises, like an opportunity to meet Santa Claus.
Participants are encouraged to make the holiday brighter by bringing a new, unwrapped toy for donation (optional). In collaboration with AAA, the toys gathered during the celebration will benefit the Pasadena Fire Dept.’s toy drive to help families in need.

BOLTON HALL MUSEUM ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY
Bolton Hall Museum will be having its holiday program on Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. Included is a holiday performance by the Randy Van Horne Singers. There will also be a drawing for great prizes and yummy refreshments. Franny McCartney is the mistress of ceremonies for this fun event.

HOLIDAY FESTIVAL FUNDRAISER BENEFITS GCPEA
The Glendale College Parent Education Association (GCPEA) Advisory Committee is hosting a holiday festival fundraiser on Sunday, Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the GCC upper parking lot in support of Glendale Community College’s 20 tuition-free parent education classes. The activities include a petting zoo, jumper/bounce house, holiday crafts, sensory play, special infant play area, holiday photo scenes including one with Santa, magical snowfall and gingerbread village. Food and beverages will be available to purchase. No entrance fee for adults and babies 12 months and younger! Children 1-year-old to 2 years old are $20. Children 2 years and older are $30.
COMMUNITY CENTER PRESENTS WINTER CHOIR CONCERT
The Foothills Community Choir will present its winter concert on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge. The Foothills Community Choir is a volunteer adult choir made possible by the generosity of the City of La Cañada Flintridge. The winter concert is free and open to the public. RHAPSODIA HOLDS SERIES FINALE
The community is invited to join Rhapsodia founder Matthew Krell for an evening of holiday merriment and winter classics, marking the series finale of the fall 2025 Sundays of Sound concert series. Highlights include selections from Handel’s “Messiah,” Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite,” “My Favorite Things” and innovative takes on “Carol of the Bells,” “Mary, Did You Know,” Vivaldi’s “Winter” and more. WINTER SOLSTICE SOUND BATH
Join Mary Frances on the winter solstice for a relaxing meditation and an hour sound bath with crystal and Himalayan singing bowls.
There will be a short meditation for people to set their intentions for saying goodbye to 2025. There will be some breath-work to ground ourselves and then lie down on mat/blankets/pillows to enjoy an hour sound bath of singing bowls. Other sound instruments may chime in as well.
Participants should bring paper and pen to list their intentions, and a Yoga mat/blanket/pillow to lie down on for the tonal concert.

ACTIVITIES AT SUNLAND SENIOR CENTER
The Sunland Senior Center offers a selection of classes and activities daily. Whether seniors are looking to exercise or dance or are interested in art, theater, or knitting, the Center has something for everyone. Sunland also hosts bingo on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and a movie matinee on the big screen at 1 p.m. on Thursdays; on Mondays and Fridays there is country line dancing from noon-1:30 p.m. The Sunland Senior Center runs programming from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. with a donations-based lunch served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
