More than 1,000 articles, including used clothes, toys, home goods and more, were for sale at bargain basement prices on Saturday, Sept. 19. The price of thousands of items was a steal (how about two bicycles for $25?). Glendale’s Pacific Community Center was the scene of the “crime.”

Living across the street from the Community Center, Maggie Baxter never misses the annual Sellebration. This year her jeans purchase cost pennies on the dollar.

More than 200 National Charity League, Inc. – Glendale mothers from the local chapter and 200 daughters each donated 40 “best” items from their households. Also donated were hours of planning, setting up and working the Sellebration event. Both Chapter President Danni Remender and Event Chair Tiffany Morgan were behind the counter checking out items that customers bought; credit cards or cash were welcome. Mother-in-law Tina Conaway and daughter-in-law Kenisha Conaway left riding their bikes – one bike went for $10 and the other for $15.

Money raised will go toward the Chapter’s more than 20 local philanthropies including Ascencia and Door of Hope. Proceeds will also fund annual grants to other organizations for equipment and supplies.

National Charity League, Inc. is a philanthropic organization dedicated to fostering mother daughter relationships through service, leadership and cultural experiences.
