5000 block of La Cañada Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, several power tools were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Surveillance footage revealed a suspect, dressed in all black clothing, walk toward the victim’s vehicle, open the door and remove the property. The suspect then walked to a black BMW sedan, entered the passenger side and the vehicle drove out of the area.
The theft occurred between 10 a.m. and noon.
Dec. 11
5400 block of Arroyo Summit Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident reported that she witnessed unknown suspects enter her backyard and attempt to burglarize her residence. The suspects were “scared off” by the motion-activated lighting system at the location.
Surveillance footage revealed Suspect No. 1, described as wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black hat, gloves and a mask, in the backyard. Suspect No. 1 entered the backyard and walked toward the residence. Suspect No. 2, described as wearing dark clothing, began walking toward the residence. Suspect No. 3, described as wearing a black hoodie, black pants, grey hat, black mask and gloves, walked toward the camera. Then the backyard lights suddenly turned on and the suspects walked westbound away from the residence and out of view.
The incident occurred at 3:54 p.m.
300 block of Santa Inez Way in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a burglary alarm call at the location. They conducted an investigation but determined a break-in did not occur. They left the area. The resident then called the CV Sheriff Station again and asked for deputies to return to view surveillance footage. The footage showed three male adults jump over the fence at the residence. One of the suspects grabbed a long metal pole that was on the ground. The suspects walked toward the east side of the rear of the home and used the metal to strike the door but were unsuccessful. One of the suspects then kicked the glass panels of the door multiple times.The home alarm was activated and the suspects exited the location.
The incident occurred at 6:27 p.m.
Dec. 9
4600 block of Vinetta Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident reported his vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler, was stolen. Surveillance footage revealed a white SUV driving past the victim’s residence and out of view. A short time later, three unknown adult males – Suspect No. 1, Suspect No. 2 and Suspect No. 3 – ran into the victim’s vehicle. Suspect No. 1 pried down the front driver window of the vehicle and entered it. Suspect No. 1 entered the vehicle and Suspect No. 2 and Suspect No. 3 ran out of view. Suspect No. 1 drove away with the stolen vehicle with the white SUV following. The theft occurred at 1:42 a.m.
