Plenty to be Happy About in CV

“Happiest are the people who give most happiness to others.” Dennis Diderot

There are happy people currently organizing the annual Star-Spangled Fireworks show that will take place at La Crescenta Elementary, 4343 La Crescenta Ave., this 4th of July. The CV Fireworks Association is an all-volunteer group that works diligently to bring you the biggest 4th of July party around. It is a 501(c3) non-profit created to provide the leadership, resources, time and energy needed in our community to put on this great annual event. This year’s event will be held on Monday, July 4.

This group spends countless volunteer hours making sure that the display is spectacular and affordable at only $5 per person. Gates open at 4 p.m. and this year, the food will be provided by some trendy food trucks. Find out more information at www.cvfireworks.com.

You can help make this event even happier. We are still looking for donations to help us run this fun, annual extravaganza. Simply write a check to Crescenta Valley Fireworks Association and send to 2629 Foothill Blvd., #176, La Crescenta, CA 91214. Your donation is tax deductible as a charitable contribution and necessary documentation is available upon request. Every donation helps and we are thankful for your support.

Another place to find happy people is at our Dine Out Night on Tuesday, July 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Frank’s Famous, 3315 N. Verdugo Road in Glendale. The money helps the Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Educational Foundation, which gives over $15,000 in grants to educational programs in the Crescenta Valley each year.

And what could make you happier than playing golf in our Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Verdugo Hills Golf Course on July 9! For only $40, you get to play golf, have lunch, be around happy people and help give money for scholarships to local high school students.

Make sure to mark you calendar for two more happy events: July 13 is our business mixer at BIS Computer Solutions and on July 23 we will be making the planet happy with our E-Waste recycling event.

Please check our website www.lacrescenta.org or call our office for more details on any event.
