Former Crescenta Valley High School softball player Allie Lacey, class of 2012, was selected in the sixth round of the inaugural Women’s Professional Baseball League draft by San Francisco.
There are four teams in the inaugural season: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston and New York. The season will run from August 2026 through September 2026 and all games will be played in Illinois.
Lacey played for legendary CV softball coach Dan Berry and then went on to play for Cal State Northridge and was one of the first ever ball girls for the Dodgers; she even founded and runs Ball Girls, an organization that puts together teams of young girls who want to play baseball.
