In 2013 the La Crescenta Woman’s Club started the Caps for Chemo project. Since that time over 800 caps have been provided to those fighting cancer. The cap styles range from fashionable (including berets) to cozy in a variety of colors. Under the direction of Sandra Satterwhite, interested members knit or crochet the caps, which are provided to local hospitals and other care facilities.

The Caps for Chemo project is just one of several outreach projects and fundraisers that the La Crescenta Woman’s Club does for local charities. Donations of yarn are accepted and additional knitters are welcome. No experience is necessary since free lessons are included.

Meetings of the Club are the second Wednesday each month, daytime and evening. Knitting project meets at various times.
