Hard Work Evidenced in Halloween Display Winners

Congratulations to the many local homeowners who were ready to show off their Halloween displays this year. With co-presenter Glendale Area Schools Credit Union and sponsors Property Management, C&M Printing and CV Water District, CV Weekly was proud to print more than 30 addresses of these decorated homes, giving community members the chance to create their own drive-by tour.

But the hard part was deciding the winners in each decorating category. After much deliberation, these were our decisions:

Best in Show: 413 Whiting Woods; Photo by Chris CALLAHAN

Best in Show: 413 Whiting Wood Road in Glendale 91208. As they have done for years, the homeowners created a frightening scenario. Judges were especially impressed with adapting this year’s Victorian scream-a-thon to a drive-through experience.

Most creative: 7081 Parsons Trail in Tujunga

Most creative: 7081 Parsons Trail in Tujunga. This nod to Dia de los Muertos featured oversized skeletons, spiders and a courtyard of creepy residents.

Most scary: 3420 Mary Ann St. in La Crescenta

Most scary: 3420 Mary Ann St. in La Crescenta. Oversized pumpkins and spooky lighting created a scene that would make even the most stalwart trick-or-treater think twice before asking for some candy.

Best themed: 3552 Prospect in La Crescenta

Best themed: 3552 Prospect in La Crescenta. This home captured the imagination with a display that included scary and fun components including a laughing pumpkin arch and oversized candy corn. A fan favorite, this house always comes through.

Congratulations to the winners and many thanks are extended to those businesses that provided gift cards for the winners including Casa Cordoba and the Crow’s Nest.
