The Sept. 24 ceremonies at the Glendale Police Dept. welcomed new officers, recognized promotions and introduced new professional staff to Glendale. The GPD Community Room was the venue for family, friends and the public to offer congratulations to all officers badged and recognized.

The posting of the colors at the GPD’s swearing-in and promotions ceremony kicked off the festivities.

The ceremonies opened with Glendale City Councilmember and former Glendale Mayor Vartan Gharpetian offering a warm welcome from the City.

“It’s because of our parents that we made it this far in life,” said Gharpetian.

Glendale Police Chief Manuel “Manny” Cid reminded his audience “There is no greater calling than to serve others.”

Glendale Police Chief Manuel “Manny” Cid was next up to the podium.
