Belmont Village Senior Living Burbank held an opening reception recently for the new photography exhibit called “American Heroes: Portraits of Service,” which features the images and stories of WWII-era veterans. Each resident veteran was presented with a copy of photographer Thomas Sanders’ book, “The Last Good War: The Faces and Voices of WWII” and a certificate of appreciation from California Assemblyman Mike Gatto. Shown in the front row are WWII veterans Mildred Evans, Lee J. Broussard and Samuel “Ed” Robinson; in the back row are (from left) Michelle Sucillon, Belmont Village community relations; photographer Thomas Sanders and Mary Jane Rodriguez, Belmont Village executive director. The public is welcome to view the permanent gallery, but is asked to call (818) 972-2405 for an appointment.
