On Thursday, the YMCA of the Foothills hosted another distribution of much-needed items for families affected by the Eaton Fire, including 65 brand-new high-quality backpacks filled with notebooks and Contigo water bottles to help middle school students and teens start the new school year on the right foot. The event was led by Southeast Ventura County YMCA, which continues to partner with the YMCA of the Foothills in its fire relief efforts.

As of August, the YMCA of the Foothills has awarded $202,947 in financial assistance and scholarships offering no-cost summer camps, resident camps, youth programs and memberships to families affected by the January fires who faced loss and displacement. By the end of 2025, the Y intends to distribute an additional $275,000 through direct relief checks as part of its ongoing mission to support those impacted by the fires throughout their recovery.

This support is only possible due to the generous donations and unconditional support of the greater Y community.
