Since late May, bulldozers and earthmovers have been hard at work at the La Cañada Thursday Club on Woodleigh Lane. In commemoration of the Thursday Club’s 100th anniversary in 2012, the Club is expanding and relandscaping its existing patio area. A brick-capped stuccoed wall, Spanish tile wall fountain, new lighting and water-wise plantings are included in the remodel.

“Our goal is to create a larger and more beautiful outdoor space that can be used by both Club members and the larger community for meetings and special social events,” said Judy Cooper, Club president. “The construction is being funded by the Club’s board and private donations and we welcome any resident or business that would like to be part of this historic project.”
