‘The New Galileos,’ a play by Amy Berryman, will be presented as an online event on Thursday, April 22 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Three female climatologists find themselves detained by government bureaucrats. The scientists are given an option to disavow their research in exchange for millions of dollars … or to disappear. In an Orwellian nightmare, they discover just how much they can trust each other as they consider the price of their recantation.
The play weaves between their current crisis and their pasts, leading them to an interrogation room. What will be the price of their freedom?
“The New Galileos” frightens with a chilling forecast of future science.
This production is directed by Brian Brophy, director of Theater Arts at Caltech (TACIT). Shiva Mudide (CIT ’21) serves as the assistant director. The play will also be presented on Friday and Saturday via Zoom.
