Lunar New Year Celebrated at Americana at Brand

A spectacular parade of fierce lions and dancing dragons was the highlight of the Americana’s Lunar New Year Celebration on Sunday, Feb. 22.  In Chinese culture, the lion symbolizes strength and protection while the dragon symbolizes power.

Chinese decor could be seen throughout the Americana. As visitors walked through the concierge lobby, many of whom picked up a complimentary tote bag, a giant statue of Confucius greeted them. The statue is surrounded by red balloons to mark the Year of the Fire Horse.

The Americana at Brand has historically displayed a 12-foot tall, hand-painted statue of the God of Prosperity or the God of Wealth to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
