On May 15, Cancer Support Community Pasadena (CSCP) will take its Angel Gala guests on a journey around the world. While CSCP’s highly anticipated virtual Angel Gala Around the World will have viewers watching from the comfort of their own homes, they will visit exotic locales and far-away places feeding their wanderlust during this pandemic.
For the past 30 years, CSCP’s Angel Gala has helped fund the free support groups, educational workshops and healthy lifestyle classes that have provided hope to over 22,000 women, men and children facing cancer in the greater San Gabriel Valley.
Thanks to the generous support of CSCP’s community, the organization has continued to act as a beacon of hope during this pandemic – with support group participation exceeding in-person participation in prior years.
“We were so honored by the overwhelming support from our community at last year’s virtual gala” said Patricia Ostiller, CSCP’s executive director, “and we can’t wait to bring our community together again – virtually – to support families in our community who are facing cancer.”
CSCP is proud to honor Melissa Alcorn and Anderson & Murison as this year’s Angel Award recipients. Their tireless generosity and passion for CSCP’s mission is inspirational. Alcorn serves on the organization’s board of directors, is a member of CSCP’s Guild, and has designated CSCP as a beneficiary in her estate plan … ensuring that CSCP will continue to serve the community for years to come. Anderson & Murison, led by company President Jim McCarthy, has been a loyal member of CSCP’s prestigious Benefactors Society, along with Alcorn, for the past several years. Together they are helping to provide invaluable resources for CSCP, strengthening the organization’s ability to serve the community.
Gala co-chairs are Rita Gooch, Ruben Marquez and Stephanie Poole.
Around the World will include raffle prizes and auction packages that are sure to please even the most seasoned world travelers.
All are invited to join the CSCP on May 15 from the comfort of their couch for an unforgettable trip Around the World … so that no one faces cancer alone.
