4900 block of Crown Avenue in La Cañada, a camera case and cameras were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
June 23
5500 block of Alta Canyada Road in La Cañada, a wallet, sunglasses, laptop computer, set of keys and several other personal items were stolen from a home. The resident contacted the CV Sheriff’s Station stating that she witnessed a male, described as Hispanic wearing a green jacket and black pants, take a purse from her residence. The resident reported that, while she was in her daughter’s bedroom, she heard the rattling of her backdoor opening. She then heard someone enter the residence. She reported that she thought it was her husband returning home and didn’t think anything of it. She then picked up her small daughter and walked into the living room where she encountered the suspect.
The man raised his hand in a threatening manner and the woman was able to run back to her daughter’s room and call 9-1-1. Deputies arrived and it was discovered the resident’s car had also been burglarized with several items stolen including credit cards. The suspect allegedly used the resident’s credit card at a nearby gas service station. Surveillance footage was used in the investigation.
About four hours after the initial burglary. Los Angeles Police Dept. contacted the CV Sheriff’s about an arrest where the suspect, who matched the description of the burglary suspect, had been detained. Several items found in the suspect’s possession allegedly belonged to the La Cañada resident. The suspect was transported to the CV Sheriff Station.
The incident occurred at 2 p.m.
June 22
600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, as a woman was working at a store she witnessed another employee changing the assigned work schedule without authorization. She reported him to the supervisor who spoke to the employee. During the course of the day, the employee approached the woman and “shoulder shoved” her. The woman was later told that the man had been dismissed from his job due to the conflict. She was also told that the man returned to the location looking for the woman. The man allegedly made criminal threats against her.
The threats were reported at 11:30 a.m.
June 21
5500 block of Godbey in La Cañada, the rear window was shattered and the front driver side of a vehicle was vandalized between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
4400 block of Ocean View Boulevard in Montrose, a dash camera was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
May 31
4300 block of Fairlawn Drive in La Cañada, jewelry was stolen from a home between May 31 and June 2.
