Fireworks Tickets Available
Tickets are on sale for the annual 4th of July fireworks celebration at Crescenta Valley High School. Pre-sale tickets are $7 and available through July 3 at CV Insurance, CV Weekly, J’s Maintenance and Bob Smith Toyota. Kids 7 and under and active military are always free. Tickets on July 4th are $10, and a drive-through ticket booth will be open on July 4th from noon to 3 p.m.
Gates for the event will open at 4 p.m. There will be food trucks and inflatable activities. Beach chairs with rounded metal bars at the base will be allowed onto the field. Chairs with traditional camping chair feet will not be allowed on the field.
The entrance to the fireworks extravaganza is located in the 4400 block of Ramsdell Avenue.
Fire Danger Level Raised
Angeles National Forest (ANF) fire officials will raise the fire danger level from “High” to “Very High” effective Friday, June 30. Live fuel moisture levels in shrubs and brush have decreased, grasses at lower elevations cured and fire activity has increased recently around the forest.
Call For Artists
The Glendale Arts and Culture Commission has issued a call for artists to apply to paint murals on City of Glendale utility boxes from Aug. 11-13. Thirteen utility box murals will be painted in downtown Glendale, along Verdugo Road, Monterey Road and Broadway. Artists selected will receive a $750 stipend.

This Week at La Crescenta Library
The La Crescenta Library hosts a variety of summer discovery programs that offer something for everyone. This week, on Saturday, July 1 at 2 p.m. it’s Discover the Digital Library! Discover library services available without leaving home! Bring digital devices or smart phones to learn how to access digital library services.
Then on Wednesday, July 5 at 3:30 p.m. it’s time to Dance Around the World! Discover a world of dance with Teresa Smith.

Car Wash Benefits College View
Bring your car to College View School on June 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for the annual car wash fundraiser! Students and volunteers love working together to get our supporters’ cars sparkly clean! Donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
This is the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year and proceeds will help finance field trips, buses and specialized equipment for students.
College View is the local special needs school serving students from ages 3 to 22 in Glendale, Burbank and La Cañada school districts.   
College View is located at 1700 E. Mountain St. in Glendale.
Rosemont Preserve Open Gate Afternoon
An “open gate” event is taking place at the Rosemont Preserve on Sunday morning, July 2. This is a chance for residents to visit the Preserve and wander the trail at their own pace and enjoy the tranquil setting, the wildlife and the natural beauty. Photographers: bring your camera to capture the early morning light.
The gate will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Friends of the Rosemont Preserve Committee members will be available to answer questions and present this community resource.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Those planning on walking the trails should wear sturdy shoes.  
This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages; no reservations required. Rain cancels. Sorry, no pets please.
