‘Lions and Tigers and Bears! Oh My!’
The local mountains, although minutes from one of the largest urban centers in the world, are host to several types of large predators. Perhaps the most impressive is the mountain lion that seems to thrive in the midst of civilization. “P22,” the mountain lion living in the Hollywood Hills, is an example of this top-end predator’s adaptability.
On Monday, June 19 at the Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley, the story of P22 and the larger story of the area’s most terrifying neighbor, the urban mountain lion, will be presented by Terri Soderstrom, a docent at the Los Angeles Zoo.
The presentation is at 7 p.m. at the Center For Spiritual Living-La Crescenta, 4845 Dunsmore Ave. (corner of Santa Carlotta Avenue).
