So Much to be Thankful For

The month of October was an exciting time for the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce! We took part in Oktoberfest, hosted by the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce. This is a great event and one of the biggest events that the Chamber has!

On Oct. 8 the CV Chamber welcomed new business Planet Fitness at 2647 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. This fitness community is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is dedicated to helping people meet their fitness goals. The CV Chamber board had a chance to visit the space (located at the previous Rite Aid property) and learned a lot about all it has to offer. Thanks to Justin Novak of Planet Fitness who oversaw the festivities!

On Oct. 18, the CV and Montrose-Verdugo City chambers welcomed i9 Sports to the neighborhood! i9 Sports is the nation’s largest multi-sport provider focused solely on high-quality, community-based youth sports programs.

On Oct. 28, chamber supporters turned out for a social hour at John Sparr Tavern in Sparr Heights. It was great meeting new people!

And on Oct. 29 a screening was held of “Coroner to the Stars,” courtesy of Vidal Herrera of 1-800-AUTOPSY. Vidal worked with Thomas Noguchi, on whom the film is based. It was a compelling film made even more interesting because of Vidal’s input.

Looking ahead, the Chamber is having its next social hour at El Charro Restaurant, 3741 N. Verdugo Road in Montrose, on Nov. 18 (in observance of Thanksgiving the following week) at 6 p.m. Plan to stop by, enjoy some casual mixing and eat some delicious Mexican food!
