Serving the Community Since 1937: GASCU

Glendale Area Schools Credit Union (GASCU) is a community-owned credit union serving Glendale, La Cañada, La Crescenta and neighboring cities. Founded in 1937 by two Glendale teachers, GASCU continues to provide our community with access to credit, loans and financial services with personalized service and collaborative financial options. It remains a not-for-profit cooperative owned by the people it serves and is committed to providing best-in-class service and options to all members.

As its 90th anniversary approaches, GASCU continues to innovate with new products and services designed to better meet the needs of its members. Its latest offering, Extra Credit, is an all-in-one platform for building money-smart habits in teens. This program combines a checking account for students 13–17 with financial education tools that help them understand the benefits and risks of credit, the importance of saving and complicated topics like interest rates, mortgages and financing solutions. GASCU believes access to learning and building financial freedom is critical to our youth’s financial success and independence.

Anyone can be a member of GASCU; the credit union welcomes students, teachers and community members to join and take advantage of its services, including low-interest-rate loans, free checking and savings accounts and mortgage services.
