USC Verdugo Hills Hospital to Host 11th Annual Suicide Awareness and Prevention Conference

USC Verdugo Hills Hospital will host its 11th annual Suicide Awareness and Prevention Conference on Sept. 12 in honor of World Suicide Prevention Day, bringing together mental health experts and community resources for a day focused on suicide prevention and awareness.

The free, community-focused conference will provide attendees with education and practical tools for recognizing suicide risk factors, responding to individuals who may be struggling and connecting people with appropriate support. The event also aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage more people to seek help when they need it.

Hosted in collaboration with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the conference will be available both in-person and online via Zoom. Admission is free and includes complimentary breakfast and lunch for in-person attendees.

Community members interested in learning more about suicide prevention are encouraged to attend. Registration is available through the event page: https://www.keckmedicine.org/events/suicide-prevention-conference/.
