The YMCA of the Foothills donated $1,000 to the Verdugo Hills High School Academy of Advanced Studies to enhance educational opportunities for students. The contribution will support the purchase of new books and academic resources, college writing workshops and other enrichment opportunities designed to prepare students for success in college and beyond.

The donation was presented to Verdugo Hills High School Academy coordinator Dr. Aaron Peterson and assistant principal Carrie Medeiros in support of the Academy’s ongoing youth development and academic enrichment initiatives.

“We are honored to continue our partnership with Verdugo Hills High School, following our sponsorship of the school’s girls flag football team last year,” said Kat Corona-Pilgrim, Marketing and Communications director for the YMCA of the Foothills. “Through this contribution, we are helping provide students with access to meaningful educational resources and engagement opportunities. Our goal is to continue supporting student learning, growth, and long-term success.”

The Verdugo Hills High School Academy of Advanced Studies is an award-winning school that empowers students to challenge themselves academically through advanced placement (AP) courses and honors humanitas classes.
