Even with the “instant translation” devices that are now available, when visiting Japan the stay will be that more pleasant if just a few helpful words and phrases are known and used. The same is true for the everyday customs the Japanese follow. From the simple art of bowing to removing shoes before entering a house or bringing a gift when visiting someone, knowing these tips will really enhance any experience in Japan. The San Fernando Japanese Language Institute will share this important information with attendees on Sunday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $25 per person; pre-register at the glendaleteahouse.org website. Number of participants will be limited.
The Teahouse is located at 1601 W. Mountain St. in Glendale.
