The Glendale Historical Society’s Gala & Benefit, an inspired celebration of Glendale’s rich heritage and the enduring importance of historic preservation, takes place on Oct. 3 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This year’s fundraising celebration (black tie optional) will be held at the Anastasia and George Moore Estate, a 1929 Spanish Colonial Revival home nestled among century-old olive trees, surviving remnants of the groves that once blanketed much of the surrounding landscape.
With its low-pitched red tile roof, hand-troweled stucco walls, graceful arched openings and distinctive period detailing, the property evokes the romance of Glendale’s golden age – an era shaped by craftsmanship, lush gardens and enduring architectural beauty. It offers a rare and atmospheric setting for an evening devoted to preservation and connection.
Guests will enjoy signature cocktails and curated wines, seasonal hors d’oeuvres and a lively auction – all in support of The Glendale Historical Society’s mission to identify and preserve Glendale’s historic, architectural and cultural treasures.
The evening will also feature the presentation of The Glendale Historical Society’s Preservation Awards – the Marie Luft Award for Excellence in Stewardship of the Doctors House and the President’s Award – honoring two individuals whose extraordinary dedication has advanced the preservation of Glendale’s historic, cultural and architectural legacy.
Tickets are $175 through Sept. 15; $195 beginning Sept. 16 and available at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/2026-gala-and-benefit or mail a check to TGHS, PO Box 4173, Glendale, CA 91202.
