Tonight, Monday, Aug. 17, a fire hydrant broke in the La CaƱada Town Center sending a large water spout several feet into the air. The hydrant was located between Luna Grill and the parking structure.

Nothing appeared to have struck the fire hydrant; it just apparently broke. Crews from the water department were able to shut off the valve within about 15 minutes, according to an LA County Fire Department spokesman.
No one was injured during the incident.
