Crescenta Valley Town Council Update: August 2026

As August arrives, the end of summer signals the start of another school year across the valley. With local campuses reopening, traffic around drop-off and pickup zones will increase significantly over the coming weeks. We remind all residents and commuters to pack extra patience during peak morning and afternoon hours. Please drive carefully, stay vigilant for pedestrians and remain mindful of parking regulations and neighborly courtesy in surrounding residential areas.

Council Candidate Applications Are Available! We are actively seeking dedicated residents who are ready to step into a leadership role on the council. The future of Crescenta Valley relies on engaged individuals willing to work for the community and advocate for local priorities. National Night Out Success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for National Night Out! The event was a wonderful success and we extend our sincere gratitude to our partners at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station for hosting the community. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces and connect with new neighbors. The dunk tank, featuring our local sheriff’s deputies, was a highlight of the evening and a huge hit with all ages.

Upcoming Pinecrest Paving and Infrastructure Improvements Happening! Essential public works projects are on the horizon for our area. The Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Works is scheduled to begin a major paving project in the Pinecrest neighborhood starting at the end of August and running through Fall 2026. Work will include street slurry application, tree root shaving and sidewalk repairs to improve overall street safety and accessibility.

Mark your calendars for the next Crescenta Valley Town Council general meeting on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library. We will feature a special presentation by LA County Regional Planning regarding the West San Gabriel Valley Capital Improvement Project. Representatives will share vital assessments on local infrastructure needs, focusing on transportation, sewer, and stormwater systems. Community input and attendance are vital to shaping these future planning decisions.
