NEWS FROM THE CV CHAMBER

Hot Temperatures Don’t Cancel Fun Times

Man, it’s hot! And according to Mary O’Keefe’s column on page 2, relief is not in the foreseeable future.

But despite the heat, the Chamber has been busy! On July 23, we hosted a “members only” barbecue! Held at Bob Smith Toyota in La Crescenta (courtesy of CV Chamber board member Pete Smith) the evening event was a heated affair – and not only due to the outside temperature! Hot dogs, cold beverages and dessert were part of a night dedicated to thanking our Chamber members for investing their time and money in the CV Chamber.

Finishing up July, on July 29 we held our social hour at Basin 141 in Montrose. A great crowd showed up, enjoying each other’s company and the food and beverages that Basin 141 is known for. Our next social hour is planned for Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. at John Sparr Tavern at 3437 Ocean View Blvd.; plan now to attend!

On July 31, some Chamber board members headed to the Hollywood Bowl – courtesy of Supervisor Kathryn Barger. Before the concert, we were invited to a private reception with the Supervisor at 7 p.m. before heading in to enjoy the music of Tchaikovsky and a dynamic fireworks show. It was a magical night!

Looking ahead, on Aug. 13 the Chamber is having a mixer at Faced at 3156 Pennsylvania Ave. in La Crescenta. This is a wellness event that will feature advice on skincare from Kira Antuna and holistic healing by chiropractor Dr. Mark Anthony. Admission is $15 for members, $20 for non-members!
