July 26

2600 block of Prospect Avenue in La Crescenta  a resident reported that he had received a motion-detection notification from his security camera. He reviewed the footage and observed a person wearing a dark-colored sweater and light-colored pants tampering with the bed of his pickup truck. He went outside and found that numerous tools had been stolen from an unlocked toolbox located in the bed of the pickup. 

Security footage revealed the suspect wearing a dark-colored sweater with white lettering or a logo on the back and light-colored pants. The suspect was seen climbing out of the pickup bed while carrying items at 2:45 a.m.

July 25

2200 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose, a resident reported that he had received a notification that the rear sliding door of his house was open. Shortly after checking his security cameras, he discovered they were disconnected and no longer worked. 

Deputies responded to the location and observed the rear sliding glass door had been shattered along with the rear sliding window glass, which was smashed. Security footage revealed two suspects, both dressed in black, appeared to jump the gate of the apartment complex. Suspect No. 1 was wearing a brown hat, Suspect No. 2 was wearing a dark colored hat. Both were seen jumping into the rear yard of the victim’s apartment unit. They were able to make their way into the apartment and then exited the front door and walked away from the location. Several items were stolen. 

The burglary occurred at 8:50 p.m.

Big Tujunga Canyon Road in Tujunga, a woman reported that she had parked her vehicle at the location and went for a hike. When she returned she found the front driver’s side door lock was punched and several personal items, including credit cards, were stolen between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. 

July 23

Trail Canyon Falls in the Angeles National Forest, a man reported that he had parked and locked his vehicle at the location and went for hike. When he returned to his vehicle he found the passenger side front door window had been smashed. He found the interior of the vehicle had been ransacked and his wallet, with several credit cards, had been stolen between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
