Team members of Montrose Search And Rescue were honored by American Legion Post 288 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1614 at the veterans’ monthly breakfast on Saturday, July 11.

The team was presented with a proclamation by the veterans for the work it does that includes rescuing people who are injured while hiking, searching for those who get lost while hiking and extrication from automobiles that go over the side of the road. These types of responses are particularly popular in the nearby Angeles National Forest.

The non-profit team is composed of volunteers who are trained and ready to respond to virtually any wilderness emergency 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The team is affiliated with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept.
Making the presentation on behalf of the veterans was Victor Bustillos; accepting on behalf of the team were Robert Panza, Sean Morrisroe and Collin Lievense.
