Dennis T. McNerny

1945-2026

Dennis Thomas McNerny, 81, of La Crescenta passed away peacefully last month at Verdugo Hills Hospital. A private memorial celebration and remembrance with family was held soon after to honor him.

Born in Kenmore, New York on Feb. 17, 1945, Dennis graduated from Niagara Community College in Niagara Falls, New York. After working at Linde Air Manufacturing in Buffalo, he moved to Glendale. There he worked part time for the City of Glendale while attending and graduating from Glendale Community College after he decided to travel extensively through Europe and Australia.

Dennis started a successful business as a painting contractor that lasted 30 years, until he retired. During his life he had many hobbies: traveling, collecting, playing and watching sports. He also loved music and restoring vintage cars. Dennis was an excellent bowler and he enjoyed his time with his family and friends, especially some who followed in his father’s footsteps.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 53 years Susan (Laney) McNerny; son Dennis William McNerny; and many extended family members.

He will be remembered for his integrity, love of his family and friends – and his great sense of humor.

He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
