800 block of Flintridge Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to the location concerning a fraud report. A woman reported that she had sent five different gift cards after receiving emails from someone she thought was with the Thursday Club, of which she is a member. The emails, which appeared to be from someone she knew, asked for donations. Thinking the request was legitimate, the woman sent the gift cards. After an investigation it was found that the individual who the victim thought the emails were from discovered that someone had created a fraudulent email using her name and had access to The Thursday Club’s master email list. 

The incident is still under investigation. 

The report was made at 10:45 a.m.

June 22

4600 block of Lasheart Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a victim of fraud reported that an unknown suspect had made two online purchases using the victim’s credit card. The victim received an email notifying him of the transactions. The victim was still in possession of his credit card. 

The theft was reported at 1 p.m.
