On May 12 and continuing through July 21,Visit Burbank and Downtown Burbank have transformed the AMC Walkway into an open-air gallery featuring monumental sculptures by artist Richard Orlinski. The Richard Orlinski Exhibition is free and open to the public.

This 12-foot standing bear of stainless steel soars over Burbank’s AMC Walkway. In the background is a 10-foot tall rearing horse in orange resin. Both sculptures are by artist Richard Orlinski.

This large-scale exhibit marks Orlinski’s Burbank debut. With more than 200 galleries and public installations, the French neo-pop artist has become one of the most exhibited sculptors working today.

A crocodile in Orlinski Red resin stretches 17 feet and anchors one end of the AMC Walkway in Burbank.

A highlight of the exhibit is a King Kong gorilla with an angular form and high gloss finish. Another dramatic sculpture is a 12-foot standing bear of stainless steel with an open lattice structure refracting sunlight, giving the impression of a creature woven from light and air. Popular on the Walkway is a crocodile in Orlinsky Red resin, stretching 17 feet with jaws wide open. It anchors one end of the Walkway.

Orlinski’s blue panther, almost four times bigger than in real life, hasn’t (so far) scared away customers from Silverlake Ramen Restaurant in Burbank.

According to Burbank mayor Tamala Takahashi, “Public art plays an important role in bringing people together. … It reflects Burbank’s commitment to celebrating the arts and creating vibrant places where we can gather and engage.”
