Creature Power Weekends
Throughout the summer, Discovery Cube will be hosting Creature Power Weekends to explore the secret lives of amazing creatures. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in animal habitats from around the globe and discover incredible creature powers like jumping, stealth, echolocation, and enhanced sight, touch, and hearing.
• June 13 and 14: Discovering senses the animal way! Activities have guests explore the senses of sound, touch and smell.
• July 3 – 5: Kick it Up! Connecting to the World Cup Soccer games being played in Los Angeles, guests can partake in soccer activities that focus on the scientific concepts of force, motion and trajectory to make connections with how animals employ the same concepts and movements to evade predators, track prey, and communicate with each other.
• Aug. 22 and 23: The World of Bats! International Bat Night is right around the corner, come learn more about these incredible creatures. Play a game to understand how bats use echolocation to navigate and locate prey, then try to match bats to their type of food (carnivores, insectivores, frugivores).
