It is time when the veil is thin between the two worlds, otherwise known as Halloween, and there are a lot of events where kids, and adults, can go to celebrate all the spooky things.

Trunk or treat events have become a popular Halloween celebration and the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station has leaned into the tradition – adding to the fun. Cars will be decorated and trunks filled with treats. Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. There will be a movie that begins at 6 p.m.; everyone is asked to bring their own chairs and enjoy the film.

La Crescenta Presbyterian Church is also hosting a trunk or treat that will include pumpkin decorating and activities for all ages.

And nothing beats Montrose with its traditional Halloween Spooktacular on Oct. 31 from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. in the 2200, 2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue. Costume clad kids (and grown-ups) will be found walking along the avenue as Montrose Shopping Park merchants give out candy.

In addition CVW is continuing to collect the addresses of decorated haunted houses throughout the area. The final list will be placed in the paper on Oct. 30. For those who would like their Halloween decorated houses to be included on the list please email hollyween@cvweekly.com.
