Oktoberfest in Montrose: Where Community Comes Together

The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to welcome the community back for its biggest event of the year: the Montrose Oktoberfest! The celebration takes place this Saturday, Oct. 4, from noon-10 p.m. on the 2200-2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue.

We kicked things off with our pre-Oktoberfest Bingo Night when neighbors came together for an evening of prizes, laughs and community spirit. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who attended as well as to the sponsors who helped make it possible. Bingo night was just the warm-up and now we’re ready for the main event!

This year’s Oktoberfest truly has something for everyone. Families can look forward to a brand-new Kids Zone, proudly supported by the YMCA of the Foothills, starting at the Montrose clock. From carnival rides and classic games for kids, teens and even adults, to an afternoon full of art projects, face painting, balloon creations and glitter tattoos, there’s no shortage of fun!

Meanwhile, food lovers can indulge in Oktoberfest favorites like brats, turkey legs, hot dogs, pretzels, churros and apple strudel, paired with domestic and German beer, Golden Road Brewing specialties, refreshing black cherry hard seltzer and wine. All items are served by local organizations that help keep the Montrose spirit alive.

In addition to the festivities, guests can also stop by the City of Glendale Planning Dept. booth on Wickham Way from noon–5 p.m. to learn more about the Glendale Plan and ask questions.

Contests are back on the Main Stage, including Lil’ Mister & Lil’ Miss Oktoberfest at 2:15 p.m., Mr. & Mrs. Oktoberfest at 4:15 p.m., and stein holding at 7:15 p.m. Each is free to enter with prizes generously donated by local businesses.

Meanwhile, live entertainment will keep Honolulu Avenue buzzing all day long. From the German American Brass Band at 5:30 p.m. to Past Action Heroes headlining the Main Stage and Powerplay rocking the Market Stage from 8 p.m.–10 p.m., the lineup offers something for everyone. Throughout the day, guests can also enjoy performances from DJ Ernie, The Vault Dance Studio, Revolution Dance Center, Chris Blakely, Bootscoot Bosses, Mary Dyer Band and Mumbo Jumbo.

Montrose Oktoberfest is made possible by our sponsors, volunteers, community partners and, most importantly, the incredible support of our neighbors. Together, they bring this beloved tradition to life year after year and make Montrose such a special place. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on Oct. 4 for a day filled with brats, beer, music, laughter and memories in the making!
