From Bingo to Brews: Oktoberfest Season Has Arrived!
As summer winds down, excitement is building for one of Montrose’s biggest traditions: the Annual Montrose Oktoberfest! The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce and our dedicated Oktoberfest Committee have been hard at work and we can’t wait to celebrate with you.
We’ll kick things off with Bingo, Beer, & Brats on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Glendale Elks Lodge #1289, 120 E. Colorado St. in Glendale. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the first game starts at 6 p.m. It’s the perfect pre-Oktoberfest kickoff so gather your friends and neighbors for prizes, opportunity drawings and a night full of fun!
Then, on Saturday, Oct. 4, the big day arrives when the 46th Annual Montrose Oktoberfest takes over Honolulu Avenue! This year brings some new rides, a brand-new kids’ zone, more live musical acts and even a merch booth where you can pick up something festive to wear or a keepsake to take home. From German food to cold brews and hard seltzers, live music to games and contests, Oktoberfest offers something for everyone!
This fall also brings important conversations to our community. August was filled with meetings about the Glendale Plan and it has been inspiring to see so many neighbors rally behind Montrose and make their voices heard. Montrose is a special place, made unique by its small businesses, annual events and the ways our community gathers together. We encourage you to keep showing up, asking questions and making your voice heard at these meetings. Public comments should also be submitted at tinyurl.com/GlendalePlanComment. The Chamber will continue to stay engaged and proactive throughout this process.
Looking ahead, please note we will not be holding a September mixer. Our next Chamber mixer will be on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church, 2700 Montrose Ave. We’re teaming up with the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce for an evening of networking and giving back. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for our food drive supporting the Bailey Center.
At the Montrose Chamber, we believe in neighbors supporting neighbors. From community meetings to annual celebrations like Oktoberfest, we’re committed to strengthening the bonds that make Montrose one of a kind. Prost, and we’ll see you Sept. 13th for bingo and Oct. 4 for Oktoberfest!
