On Wednesday, the Dept. of Justice released a statement that Dr. Salvador Plasencia pleaded guilty to four counts of distribution of ketamine. He will face a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison for each count at his sentencing hearing, which is scheduled for Dec. 3. He remains free on bond and has indicated through his lawyers that he intends to surrender his medical license within the next 30-45 days.

Dr. Plasencia was the physician for actor Matthew Perry before Perry died of an overdose death on Oct. 28, 2023.
