On May 23 the Lincoln Elementary School community gathered for one of its most cherished traditions – the Annual Lincoln Scholarship Awards Assembly. The event, a heartwarming celebration of achievement and nostalgia, was once again organized by kindergarten teacher and committee head Angelina Thomas, whose dedication ensures this special day is unforgettable for all.
Each year, Lincoln Elementary offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors who once walked its halls as young students. These returning seniors are welcomed back and introduced one by one, sharing fond memories of their time at Lincoln, recalling favorite teachers and moments that shaped their early education. They also reveal their exciting plans for the future and reintroduce their kindergarten buddies – who are now proud sixth graders.
The assembly not only honors academic success but also celebrates the enduring connections between past and present Lincoln Lions.
