The Glendale Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. will hold its 19th annual From the Heart, an American Red Cross blood drive, on Sunday, June 22 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, located at 1812 Verdugo Blvd. in Glendale in Council Rooms A-D. Members of the community are encouraged to make an appointment to donate by emailing nclglendalefromtheheart@gmail.com or by signing up for this drive on the American Red Cross website at redcross.org and entering sponsor code nclglendale. All donors will receive a $15 e-gift card after the event. Donors are also treated to homemade cookies and treats made by the mother and daughter chapter members.
“Teaching our daughters the importance of donating blood helps instill compassion and a sense of social responsibility from a young age. It empowers them to understand how one simple act can save lives. By learning about blood donation early, they are more likely to grow into adults who give back and make a positive impact,” stated Keisha Wilcox, Chapter president.
Chairing the event are members Catherine Sanders and Karen Romo.
