LA County Street Sweeping Service Advisory

Beginning Saturday, May 1 Los Angeles County started updating its street sweeping schedules to provide sweeping services on residential streets twice a month in unincorporated LA County communities. Major streets will continue to be swept once a week.

Street sweeping services help ensure clean and safe streets, and reduce debris ending up in storm drain systems causing water pollution. The County sweeps more than 3,300 curb-miles every week.

Visit the LA County Street Sweeping Service website at pw.lacounty.gov/rmd/streetsweeping/ for information on street sweeping schedules in the local community.

S-T Shadow Hills Rotary Club Announces Cancelation of July 4 Parade

Though local area restrictions have been lifted for many public gatherings around the Los Angeles area, the annual Sunland-Tujunga July 4 parade has been canceled for 2021, as the City of Los Angeles is not yet issuing permits for large gatherings.

The Sunland-Tujunga Shadow Hills Rotary Club, which hosts the annual event, hopes that by 2022 this very popular summer parade will once again travel its traditional route down Foothill Boulevard.

Community service projects undertaken by the Rotary Club this year include providing face shields for local rehabilitation centers and skilled nursing facilities. The club provided meals for local first responders. The club has also partnered with the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council on several projects including the Pole Banner Art Project.
