Valley View Elementary second grade classes were lucky enough to have Marty Hamel, a retired forest service captain come in and discuss the role of smoke jumpers in the United States Forest Service.   He brought in tools and showed the kids how they are used when fighting fires.

This tied in with the Benchmark Advance story about Smoke Jumpers and their role in helping the government.
